Did you unzip the main files you downloaded? That is what typically happens when the correct theme file folder is not uploaded.

Hey Taj,

It is a great theme but out the box you might not do that well with ads. The best bet is to use one of these plugins: http://85ideas.com/plugins/best-google-adsense-wordpress-plugins/. My favourite is Quick Adsense.
